Where do you teach?

At our studio at Somerset Gift Retreat Centre near Swellendam.


How long have you been practicing yoga?

Since 2005.

How long have you been teaching yoga?

Since 2007.

Who have you trained with and where?

Jim Harrington & Chris Loker at the, since dissolved, Moksa.

What lead you to teaching yoga and at what point did you decide that you wanted to teach?

I was already doing a Pilates practice, but was searching for a deeper, more mindful body-work. I found everything I was looking for, and more, in yoga.

What do you love most about teaching?

How it gifts those who commit to the practice with an open heart, builds communities around people and all of the physical benefits!

Is there a focus in your teaching style?

You can expect flow, kindness, sometimes laughter, (at ourselves), and a safe space to practice in.

What do you love most about yoga?

The harmony it brings into my body and mind, and how it gives me more perspective….taking a step back to see the bigger picture.

What is the greatest challenge you have overcome with the help of yoga?

How to be quiet & being kinder to myself.

What advice do you have for people who have never tried yoga?

Do not compete with anyone, or with yourself, be accepting and patient with your evolving practice and journey.

At present, pigeon is feeling really good.  :-)

Strongest Asana?

Depends on the day, sometimes none.  :-)

What are your other interests?

I blog about vegetarian and vegan food, love to cook, I am currently doing a Nutritional Therapy course, and I host plant-based cooking and yoga retreats on our farm.
