So we eventually made it to Chomrong, the walk there was beautiful and Chomrong was definitely my favourite place to stay on the whole trek.
Day 3: Be willing to adjust your plans and you never know what unexpected joys you might come across.
his was probably the hardest day of the whole trek for me. A sleepless night with a 4:45 wake up call to head off and up (please note the word UP – doing steps UP first thing in the morning is definitely not my strong point!) to Poon Hill.
Day 2: Accepting that things aren’t always the way we want them and seeing the beauty of what we do have and where we are. Ghorapani here we come.
The terraced fields of Ulleri, the donkeys walking past carrying all that is needed by us crazy tourists to places higher up the mountains and then seeing the snow-capped mountains of the direction we were heading to. Yip we were heading somewhere into those peaks.
So we started off on our adventure walking from Nayaul to our first night’s stay in the village of Tirkhedunga. Here you learn early on, that the ABC trek is a lot of steps up and then steps down… this wouldn’t be the end of the steps
Over the next 12 posts I will be sharing with you my adventure up to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) in Nepal. To be honest, my dream has been to visit Tibet, but when I heard that my friend Helen’s husband, Roland runs a trekking company, (The Mountain Company) and organizes treks around the world, I had a look-see what was on offer…

I never used to enjoy running. I used to do it because I knew it was good for me, and being practically cost-free, it seemed a no-brainer in terms of an accessible exercise option. I soon discovered I was a talented and super-fast runner in certain situations: When the phone’s ringing, which it only does […]

“WHAT IS SADHANA? It’s a committed prayer. It is something which you want to do, have to do, and which is being done by you. Sadhana is self-enrichment. It is not something which is done to please somebody or to gain something. It is a personal process in which you bring out your best” Yogi […]
